Wilson Thomas
President BarNone Training
Personal Trainer

WilsonI developed a passion for sports and physical fitness at a very young age, which has continued throughout my life and developed into a fulfilling career as a physical trainer. I played football, basketball and ran track in high school. This challenged me to remain disciplined in my training, yet stay focused in the classroom. My hard work and dedication paid off, earning me a full-ride scholarship to the University of Nebraska. I played 4 years of football and two years of basketball for the Cornhuskers. I kept my passion on the field and the court, but never lost sight of studying hard to earn my degree. I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in management. My ability on the field and dedication in the classroom was noticed by the National Football League, and I was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. I played part of the season for the Chiefs and went on to play for the Green Bay Packers. I played a season for NFL Europe and two years of arena football for the Arizona Rattlers.

Through all my training, I gained a wealth of knowledge about health, fitness, and eating right, and learned how to reach and maintain my body's potential. Being a professional athlete, you are constantly pushed and challenged to work hard. There is no bar that is too high; we always had to meet our goals. I wanted to share my knowledge and work with others to help them achieve their own health and fitness potentials. I am currently a personal trainer in Olathe, KS and have worked with over 200 clients. Today, I maintain approximately 75 regular clients. It is important to me to meet with each client, learn about their vision for their own personal health and fitness, and develop a program specifically tailored to achieve those goals.

I remain a student of my own craft. This allows me to be knowledgeable about many different areas of health and fitness. My goal is to always be able to bring new ideas and challenges to the table in order to better meet the needs of my clients, as everyone is looking for something different to improve their health. Some want weight loss, others want strength training, and some are athletes looking to achieve a new goal. I bring the knowledge I have from my career as a professional athlete, I am certified by the International Sports Sciences Association, Mad Dog Cycling and AFAA Yoga. This allows me to continue to change what I can offer my clients. Cycling is low impact and an excellent cardio exercise, while Yoga helps develop flexibility and core stability.

I never lose sight of my own personal fitness. I continue to play basketball for the Kansas City Professional/Amateur league. I also enjoy cycling outdoors. I have completed the MS 150 (a two day race to support Multiple Sclerosis). This actually gives me another outlet to work with my clients, as many will ride with me. Through the summer months, I organize a group ride once a week completing an average 25-30 miles with each ride. I also enjoy martial arts and have studied Krav Maga, an Israeli self defense program.

I also believe giving back to the community is very important. I strongly support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and have a close place in my heartĀ for this organization as my own mother struggled with this disease. I am happy to say she is a breast cancer survivor today! I became an Ambassador for Susan G. Komen and will continue to support the foundation both personally and through BarNone Training. BarNone Training has an organized group of clients who participate in the Race for the Cure and raise money each year to support the cause.

I always challenge my clients to make the time and to "MAKE IT WORTH IT." It is easy to get distracted in life's daily activities, but this mantra redirects your focus to your personal goals. My hope is to provide my expertise and tools to my clients so they find it a little easier to make the time. I believe true personal health and fitness comes from the core. My goal is to help my clients find their true personal health and fitness!
